The delectable biskeemiya is a Maldivian treat that will undoubtedly appeal to any food lover. A curry puff had ménage trois with a samosa and a spring roll, and you’re halfway to what a bis-keemiya is, and it’s as delicious as that sounds.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Water
- 2 Tbsp Refined Oil
- Salt (According to Taste)
- 1/2 Cup Onion
- 3 Green Chilies
- 3/4 – 1 Cup Cabbage
- 2 Cups Maida
- 2 Boiled Eggs
- Refined Oil (For Frying)
Preparation
Prep: 15 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
- Sauté onions and chillies. Next, add cabbage, sauté it until the cabbage becomes soft.
- Once done, mix in grated boiled eggs and season it with salt and pepper, to taste. Remove it from the heat.
- In a pan add the water, 2 tsp oil, salt. When the water comes to boil add the maida and mix it in that pan (this step ensures that it consumes less oil while frying) and form a dough.
- Roll dough in a circle and stuff the fillings into the rolled dough and fold it from both sides, forming it into rectangular shapes.
- Lastly, fry them until it becomes golden brown. Serve warm.
