Cajun Spice Potatoes is a restaurant-style appetizer that I had loved at a famous restaurant chain. I was amazed by the idea of crispy fried potatoes with spicy and sweet mayonnaise sauce. My restaurant cravings during the lockdown made me try this recipe at home.
Ingredients
- 4-5 Potatoes (parboiled)
- Mayonnaise Mixture
- 4 Tsp Mayonnaise
- 1/2 Tsp Pepper Powder
- 1 Tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 Tsp Onion Powder
- 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 Tsp Tomato Ketchup
- 2 Tsp Onions
- 1/2 Tsp Oregano
- Salt as Per Taste
- Coating Mixture
- 2 Tbsps All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 1/4 Pepper Powder
- Oil to Shallow Fry
- Coriander (for garnishing)
Preparation
Prep: 10 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
- In a bowl, add mayonnaise, pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder, red chilli powder, tomato ketchup, chopped onions, oregano and salt. Mix well and keep aside.
- In another bowl, add all-purpose flour, red chilli powder, pepper powder and salt. Mix well and keep aside.
- Take parboiled potatoes (do not peel off the skin) and press flat in between the palm.
- Coat them with all-purpose flour mixture and shallow fry for 4-5 minutes on both sides.
- Arrange the fried potatoes in a serving plate and top it up with mayonnaise mixture.
- Garnish with onions and coriander.
