Goan Recheado Masala

Recheado is a fiery and tangy goan condiment. It is mostly used as a stuffing for mackerels and other seafood. It is so versatile, it can be used for marinating chicken, prawns or even paneer for a vegetarian option, this masala is found in every Goan household.


  • 100 Grams Kashmiri Chillies
  • 10 Cloves of Garlic
  • 1 Inch Ginger
  • 1 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Tsp Peppercorns
  • 10 Cloves
  • 2 Inch Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Marble Size Tamarind
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Cups Vinegar


Prep: 45 minutes
Cooking: 5 minutes

  1. Soak all the ingredients in Vinegar for 45 minutes.
  2. Grind the ingredients without adding water. (If you feel the masala is dry add a little vinegar)
