Guava cheese is a recipe without which Christmas feels incomplete, this dish dates back to the colonial days in Brazil. For me, this recipe has been close to my heart ever since I started making sweets because over the years I self-thought myself cooking and making goan sweets and guava cheese was one of the first sweets I ever made.
Ingredients
- 4 Ripe Guava
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 Tbsp Amul Butter
Preparation
Prep: 15 minutes
Cooking: 40 minutes
- Take the guava and cook on steam, then remove the seeds by slitting it the centre and then grind it in the grinder to get the pulp then strain it.
- Then in a heavy bottom pan add 1 cup pulp, 1 cup powdered sugar, 1 tbsp lemon juice, ½ tbsp butter mix well and cook it on low flame till it comes together and leave the pan.
- Empty the mixture in a tin which is greased with butter and leave it aside to cool, once it cools down you can cut it into small pieces.
