Pepper Chicken

The recipe has my favourite ingredient, Pepper. This dish is a combination of all the spices I like and just because it has a lot of pepper, I called it Pepper Chicken.

Ingredients

  • 250 Grams Chicken
  • 1/2 Cup Curd
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric
  • 4 Tsp Pepper Powder
  • 10 Flakes Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 Inch Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Jeera Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1 Tsp Jeera Seeds
  • 2 Green Chillies
  • Curry Leaves
  • Salt to Taste
  • Oil

Preparation

Prep: 60 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes

  1. Marinate the chicken with salt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and 2 teaspoons pepper powder and set aside for an hour.
  2. Heat oil and fry the chillies for a bit, take them out and keep aside. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
  3. Next, add the jeera. After about a minute, add the curry leaves, ginger, garlic, jeera powder, coriander powder and 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder. Mix well.
  4. Once the oil starts leaving the masala, add the marinated chicken and salt (don’t add water). Cover and cook till the chicken is cooked. Once done, add the remaining 2 teaspoons of pepper powder and the fried chillies. Mix well and switch the flame off.
  5. Enjoy with chapatis or rice.
