My husband was craving a raw papaya salad we ate in a restaurant a few months back. So, I planned to surprise him by making one at home. After looking for a bunch of recipes online, I made my version of it by combining 2-3 recipes. He enjoyed it just as much he did at the restaurant.
Ingredients
- 1 Grated Raw Papaya
- Handful Chopped Spring Onion
- 1/2 Grated Carrot
- 1 Sliced Tomato
- 2 Red Chilies
- 4-5 Garlic Cloves
- 2 Tsp Crushed Peanuts
- 1 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
- 1 Tsp Soy Sauce
- 2-3 Tsp Tamarind Puree
- Salt to Taste
Preparation
Prep: 20 minutes
Cooking: 5 minutes
- To make a tamarind dressing, add the red chilies and garlic in a crusher. Add peanuts and blitz it again.
- Now add sugar, lemon juice, soy sauce and tamarind puree. Mix well.
- In a bowl, take the grated raw papaya, add spring onions, carrots and tomatoes. Mix all the ingredients well. Season with salt as per taste. Add tamarind dressing and mix it well again.
