Thalipith/Maharashtrian Pancakes

The savoury pancakes are tasty, healthy and a nutritious start to a morning. Made with multigrain flour, the pancakes are ideal for weight loss.


  • 1/2 Cup Jowar Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Bajra Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Wheat Flour
  • 1/2 Cup Rice Flour
  • 1/4 Cup Gram Flour
  • 1/4 Tsp Ajwain
  • 1/4 Tsp Jeera
  • 1 Tsp Garlic (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Ginger (finely chopped)
  • 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 3 Curry Leaves
  • 1 Tsp Oil
  • Salt to Taste
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • Oil (for toasting)


Prep: 20 minutes
Cooking: 5 minutes

  1. First, make a crushed powder of jeera and ajwain because it gives a nice aroma to the dish.
  2. Next, take a mixing bowl and add onions, curry leaves, crushed powder, garlic, ginger, coriander leaves, oil, salt, red chilli powder and all the flour. Mix well.
  3. Now slowly add water in parts as required to form a dosa batter of pouring consistency or you can even form a smooth dough.
  4. Heat the Tawa. On medium flame pour the batter and cook for 5mins on both side .
  5. Serve Hot with ketchup or chutney.
