Basic French Toast with Cinnamon and Maple Syrup

Prepping up your Sunday brunch meal? Add a portion of classic French toast to the spread with a simple and utterly delicious recipe. Sit back and enjoy with a cup of coffee!


  • 15 Bread Slices (I used leftover brun)
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 1/4 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Drops of Vanilla Essence
  • A Teaspoon of Cinnamon Powder (Optional)
  • Oil to fry


Prep: 10 minutes
Cooking: 7 minutes

  1. Whisk the milk and sugar nicely in a bowl (large enough to soak the bread in later).
  2. Then add eggs and beat well.
  3. Once done, add cinnamon and vanilla essence.
  4. Soak a slice of bread but not for too long as it will break.
  5. On a hot pan, fry the bread nicely on both sides.
  6. Drizzle maple syrup before serving (optional).
