Brown Bread Sandwich

Brown bread sandwiches are healthy and easy to make, which makes them perfect for those who work from home and even the kids.


  • For the Green Chutney
  • 1 Cup Cilantro
  • 1/2 Cup Mint Leaves
  • 1-inch Ginger (sliced)
  • 4 Garlic (sliced)
  • 2 Green Chilli
  • 3 Tablespoon Butter (frozen)
  • 3 Tablespoon Curd
  • Salt to Taste
  • 4 Ice Cubes
  • Water
  • For the Sandwich
  • 4 Brown Bread Slices
  • Green Chutney
  • 1 Tomato (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Cucumber (thinly sliced)
  • Cheese Slices (optional)
  • Ketchup


Prep: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes

  1. Prepare green chutney by blending all the ingredients listed above into a smooth paste. Add ice cubes to maintain the colour and consistency of the chutney.
  2. To assemble the sandwiches, start with 2 slices. Cut the edges and spread green chutney on one side of the bread. Add more butter, if you like.
  3. Then layer one of the breads with sliced onions, tomatoes, cucumber and cheese. Toast in a pan until golden brown. You can also grill it in the oven for 2 minutes.
  4. Cut and serve with ketchup.
  5. The chutney can be made, frozen and used as per your need. Perfect to be paired with any snacks, sandwiches or Indian flatbreads.
