Brown bread sandwiches are healthy and easy to make, which makes them perfect for those who work from home and even the kids.
Ingredients
- For the Green Chutney
- 1 Cup Cilantro
- 1/2 Cup Mint Leaves
- 1-inch Ginger (sliced)
- 4 Garlic (sliced)
- 2 Green Chilli
- 3 Tablespoon Butter (frozen)
- 3 Tablespoon Curd
- Salt to Taste
- 4 Ice Cubes
- Water
- For the Sandwich
- 4 Brown Bread Slices
- Green Chutney
- 1 Tomato (thinly sliced)
- 1 Onion (thinly sliced)
- 1 Cucumber (thinly sliced)
- Cheese Slices (optional)
- Ketchup
Preparation
Prep: 20 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
- Prepare green chutney by blending all the ingredients listed above into a smooth paste. Add ice cubes to maintain the colour and consistency of the chutney.
- To assemble the sandwiches, start with 2 slices. Cut the edges and spread green chutney on one side of the bread. Add more butter, if you like.
- Then layer one of the breads with sliced onions, tomatoes, cucumber and cheese. Toast in a pan until golden brown. You can also grill it in the oven for 2 minutes.
- Cut and serve with ketchup.
- The chutney can be made, frozen and used as per your need. Perfect to be paired with any snacks, sandwiches or Indian flatbreads.
