Chocolate Chip Cookies

I find myself baking whenever I need some quiet time. It’s therapeutic and it’s my form of self-care, but baking can be tricky sometimes and I’ve had my share of ups and downs. There is one recipe however that I’ve managed to perfect in the kitchen every time – my chocolate chip cookies!! It’s easy to make and can be stored for days too!

Cooking: 12 minutes

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Celsius.
  2. Mix your sugar, melted butter, vanilla essence and whisked egg in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  4. Use a spatula and combine your wet and dry ingredients until mixed evenly. (Make sure you see no white flour).
  5. Add in your dark chocolate chips.
  6. On a baking pan line your parchment paper. Take a cookie dough scooper, scoop out the dough balls and space them out neatly on the tray. Leave enough space between them.
  7. Sprinkle the sea salt on each of the dough balls.
  8. Bake in the oven for 10 – 12 minutes.
  9. When they start to brown, remove them and cool them on a cooling rack. They should be warm and chewy.
