Coarse or smooth? Whichever texture you prefer, falafels won’t disappoint. This Middle-Eastern snack has gained popularity over the years and now it’s everywhere from salads to wraps to snacks. This nutty chickpea and herbs preparation is easy to whip up.
Ingredients
- For the Falafels
- Chickpeas (soaked overnight)
- Coriander
- Green Chillies
- 1 Tbsp Cumin Powder
- 1 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
- Lemon Juice
- Salt to Taste
- For the Hummus
- Chickpeas (boiled)
- Sesame Seeds
- Salt to taste
- Water
- Oil
Preparation
Prep: 60 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
- For the falafels – Grind the Falafel ingredients in a blender. Make sure it’s not too hard nor too soft.
- Make balls or patty of the mixture and deep fry in oil. Serve hot.
- For the hummus – Grind all the hummus ingredients in a blender.
- Add more oil if necessary.
- Take out in a bowl and refrigerate for 15 minutes (you can also use spiced olive oil).
