My dad’s spice tolerance is low and the usual non-vegetarian food we make at home is too spicy for him, so I looked up dishes that he could enjoy. I came across Honey Glazed Chicken but because I had shrimps at home, I made this dish with some variations especially for my father.
Ingredients
- 1 Cup Shrimps
- 2 Tbsp Honey
- 6-7 Cloves Garlic
- 1 Small Onion
- 1 Tbsp Chilli Powder
- 2 Tbsp Butter
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 Tsp Ketchup
- 1 Tbsp Corn Flour
- 1/2 Tbsp Pepper
- Salt to Taste
Preparation
Prep: 15 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
- Clean the prawns, remove the thread but you can keep the tail intact if you want. Wash well and keep aside.
- For the sauce, mix honey, soy sauce, ketchup, chilli powder and salt.
- Chop onion and garlic finely.
- Toss the shrimps in butter in a pan till they’re cooked. Keep aside.
- In the same pan, fry onions and garlic. Once they’re brown, add the sauce mixture and a little water. Stir. If the water is too much, add cornflour slurry (cornflour and 2 tablespoon water) and stir continuously to avoid lumps.
- Once the sauce thickens, add the shrimps and mix well.
- Adjust salt and serve hot.
