The recipe has my favourite ingredient, Pepper. This dish is a combination of all the spices I like and just because it has a lot of pepper, I called it Pepper Chicken.
Ingredients
- 250 Grams Chicken
- 1/2 Cup Curd
- 1/2 Tsp Turmeric
- 4 Tsp Pepper Powder
- 10 Flakes Garlic (finely chopped)
- 1 Inch Ginger (finely chopped)
- 1 Tsp Jeera Powder
- 1 Tbsp Coriander Powder
- 1 Tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1 Tsp Jeera Seeds
- 2 Green Chillies
- Curry Leaves
- Salt to Taste
- Oil
Preparation
Prep: 60 minutes
Cooking: 20 minutes
- Marinate the chicken with salt, 1/4 teaspoon turmeric and 2 teaspoons pepper powder and set aside for an hour.
- Heat oil and fry the chillies for a bit, take them out and keep aside. Add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
- Next, add the jeera. After about a minute, add the curry leaves, ginger, garlic, jeera powder, coriander powder and 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder. Mix well.
- Once the oil starts leaving the masala, add the marinated chicken and salt (don’t add water). Cover and cook till the chicken is cooked. Once done, add the remaining 2 teaspoons of pepper powder and the fried chillies. Mix well and switch the flame off.
- Enjoy with chapatis or rice.
